IBM Iriquois PLC Control & HMI Development

Objective: Engineering, Construction, Start-Up of a High-Tech
Semiconductor Manufacturing Facility

Project Summary

IBM and Toshiba entered into a joint venture to manufacture large capacity memory chips in a state-of-the-art facility. The entire facility utilized Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for the control of temperature, humidity, scrubbers, lift stations, and gas detection alarm and shut-off.

Merrimac provided project management, PLC programming, Human Machine Interface (HMI) programming, control panel hardware design, construction supervision, installation and start-up support and system tuning.
